The Rockpool collection is inspired by walks along the beach and the thrill of treasure hunting. I wanted to capture the joy of discovering something beautiful hidden beneath the stones and the memories such discoveries hold
For this necklace. I melt, carve, and shape wax until it captures the essence of a rockpool. I then use the ancient lost wax casting technique to turn the wax into silver. The wax piece is encased in a plaster mould and heated – the wax melts away and becomes ‘lost’, leaving a perfect cavity into which to pour the molten silver. Once cooled, the plaster is broken away to reveal the silver beneath.
The result is a delicate necklace that tells stories of the quiet magic of the shore.
