Inspired by shoreline wanderings and the excitement of uncovering tiny treasures, the Rockpool Collection reflects the joy of finding beauty tucked beneath the rocks – along with the nostalgia that comes flooding back with it.
I melt, carve, and shape wax creating bubbles of foam, pebbles and shell like forms. I then use the ancient lost wax casting technique to turn the wax into silver. The wax piece is encased in a plaster mould and heated, melting the wax and leaving a perfect cavity into which to pour the molten silver. Creating an exact replica of my wax design.
You have a choice of two finishes on this ring to make it truly personal to your aesthetic. A fully polished, shiny ring that sparkles under light. Or a satin white finish that I create by heating the metal one more time – and then immediately quenching it in a warm pickling solution. This brings the fine white silver to the surface, giving a natural, coral-like satin white finish.
