The Coral Collection is inspired by travels and quiet moments watching coral shimmer beneath the waves. I’ve always been drawn to the intricate textures created by nature- and I create these pieces of silver jewellery so you can carry a little piece of those treasured moments and make them part of your story.
For this necklace, I use a technique called ‘acid etching’ to create intricate and permanent designs on the surface of the silver. I hand paint a coral-inspired design using a protective varnish, and then submerge the necklace into an acid solution. This bites into the exposed areas, leaving a recessed pattern.
Once finished, the result is beautifully detailed. I repeat this process a couple of times to create the intricate layers and textures found on a coral’s surface. And then drill small holes to catch the light, like treasures glinting beneath sunlit waves.
A fine silver bezel edge gently frames the pendant – celebrating the natural beauty of the sea’s surface. This necklace is available with either a polished or satin white finish.
